The Shorey Cup
Origin:
The original Cup was presented to Beaconsfield Golf Club by Charles L. Shorey, a founding member and a member of the first Board of Directors.
The first cup was destroyed in the 1929 club house fire and a replacement C.L. Shorey Cup was subsequently donated by Mr. Shorey's sons in memory of their father.
Competition:
Annual — match play, net.
First winner of the replacement Cup in 1929 was R.B. Chillas.
Winner of The Shorey Cup in 1978 was J. Daccord. |

CLUB ADMINISTRATION
The administration of the Club is carried out as a direct responsibility of the Club Manager under the overall direction of the Board of Directors.
The Board of Directors consists of not less than 10 and not more than 13 duly elected members as voted into office at the annual meeting. The officers of the Club are elected for one year from within the Board by the Board of Directors.
It is the Board of Directors that is empowered to make the rules and regulations, which are binding on all members of the Club, and to administer the Club's affairs.
No member shall personally reprimand any staff member. Any concern of a member must be reported directly to the Club Manager in writing. Fraternization with staff is not permitted. Members may not frequent the service areas of the Club such as the kitchen and the bar.
Important Information
- Jeans, rugby or cargo pants, capri pants, sweatshirts and billboard hats are not permitted. Please refer to the Course and Clubhouse Dress Codes for specific details.
- Soft spikes or spikeless shoes are mandatory.
- Smoking is prohibited in clubhouse dining areas.
- The use of cellular phones is not allowed on the course or in the clubhouse.
- The course should be played in 4 hours and 10 minutes.
- Please replace divots, repair ball marks and rake bunkers.
